ASSOCIATE ACTORVISTS

There's a wealth of ways you can make an invaluable contribution to what we do,. If you're London based drop by and help with flyering and promotion, skilled or unskilled building and maintaining our productions and venues or welcoming and assisting our audience front of house.
Or if you're miles away keep in touch via video links and help us with admin, running the on-line box office, ad campaigns, or with social media. Skills you may already have or might like to learn.

Tell us a little about yourself and the help you could potentially offer, with no commitment, when you sign up to join our mailing list as an ASSOCIATE ACRORVIST and lets be in touch.

PRODUCTION ACTORVISTS
We invite our fellow former, current or aspiring,
performers, creatives, stage management, producers and promoters
to become Production Actorvists.

Join us performing, staging, and organising a memorable production of a magnificent play and getting it out there to find a whole new audience for theatre's future.
"Since Covid the landscape is still very bleak. Many careers have stopped entirely, and there's been an exodus of theatre makers from every single theatre discipline"
Sam Mendes (Leading Theatre Director)
To allow former theatre makers and performers to contribute alongside earning elsewhere , we are experimenting with scheduling rehearsals and performances outside of the working week.
When up to speed we are looking at creating around 6 productions a year.
VOLUNTEERING COMMITMENT PER PRODUCTION.
3-4 weekends of rehearsals:

Fridays 7pm - 10pm,
Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 10pm
Mondays 7pm - 10pm

followed by

3-4 weekends of performances. typically
Friday evenings,
Saturday matinee and evenings
Sunday matinee and evenings
with filming or rehearsal adjustments for a change of venue on Monday evenings.

Further rehearsal sessions will always be available on request subject to the agreement of everyone involved.

We've euphemistically named this working model after an olde English expression for a series of extraordinary events,
A MONTH OF SUNDAYS.
To keep everything as stress free as possible, and allow participants to plan for their involvement we eventually hope to cast and assemble a team for each production up to six months in advance with final scripts distributed, parts allocated, and designs finalised a month ahead to of rehearsals to allow for adequate prep time.

CASTING
When ever possible we will aim to cast members of our REP COMPANY in leading roles. A data base of artists we trust, love working with, who we thing audiences will love too.

Company members will receive exclusive advance notice of productions via our newsletter, and can let us know when they'd like to be involved.

AUDITIONS
We'll be holding auditions and interviews in the forthcoming weeks for the THE REP company from which we'll invite available actorvists to be part of the cast, management, creative and promo teams for one of our next three productions (tba)

If you'd like to be involved there's an opportunity to apply when you sign up for our newsletter.

DESIGNERS
If you're a creative we'd like you to personally work on two productions a year, excited by the challenge of making an impact with the tiniest of budgets .
For instance in the past we've delivered beautiful lighting designs with bicycle lamps and conjured up sumptuous elegance from poundland.
If that's the kind of insane creative thinking that gets your juices flowing AND you'd like to potentially pass on your wisdom and enthusiasm to emerging theatre makers please get in touch.

What level of Actorvism would suit you?

Well... yes. I see what you mean. I love theatre. Yes, I suppose I could be a tiny bit Actorvisty...
We're planning a supporters page.
Write us a few sentences we can publish about what theatre has meant for you and why it's worth fighting for .

I want to sign up but I'll need to feel sure this is a credible, operation, that's on a strong footing legally, financially and constitutionally. People's free time is valuable so what's being asked of everyone needs to be fair, transparent and no one must be exploited.
Please consider becoming a trustee. You're exactly who we're looking for at this time.

Let's do this!! Oh, no wait I'm so busy, I want to help but realistically, I'm afraid...
Our Month of Sundays scheme is for you.
we'll be holding regular Sunday get-togethers for actorvists to help out in any way they can, be it flyering, helping to make or source stuff , front of house or just simply contributing practical ideas or inspiration for a few hours. If you can commit to donating just four Sundays a year, on dates to suit. you it would make a big difference.

Our shows tend to be created over a 4 intensive long weekends and performed over a second month from Friday to Sunday.
